  • PLAYER 1 - Swodd

    Wizards of Arragoth,

Listen well and heed my words for I speak with the voice of my liege lord,
Swodd, King of the Under Dwarves. We are a solitary people and little
interested in the affairs of the Over Land. We have expected nothing from
you and asked nothing of you save that you leave us to our works in peace.
It seems, however, that this peaceful arrangement may be in jeopardy. In
the face of the return of the Fire Gods' son, certain of the races have
taken it upon themselves to become the sole arbiters of honor and justice.
While the Underdwarves will not stand in the way of any alliance seeking to
defeat Arragoth, we will not tolerate actions that impinge upon the
    sovereignty of our nation.
To the Minotaurs, then, and those who wish to stand with them; we wish you
luck in your endeavors but caution you not to presume to judge the honor of
our race or to dictate our actions. Our lands and affairs are our own and
we will not be bullied by your martial declarations. Seek not to
intimidate the other races into compliance with your whims, for we will
stand for any nation whose neutrality is violated.
Finally, to the twisted inhabitants of Nightscar; trust is a fragile thing
and your history of perpetual predations has done little to prove you
worthy of it. If any of your miserable kind raids our city again, you will
    be destroyed.

    Written by My hand,
Dalkric, Lord of Blackrock, First Advisor to King Swodd
The Free and Neutral Nation of the Under Dwarves

  • PLAYER 4 - Harry Keogh

    Hail,

I have been busy of late with many important projects /
constructions. The Minotaur peoples have worked hard at expanding the
frontiers of their empire ready for the onslaught of the fire god and his
    minions.

There seems to be some concern that the alliance between the
Minotaurs and certain other races is some form of militaristic tyranny, we
will assure any not of this alliance that this is not the case, it is merely
a promise of non aggression between such peoples whilst the threat of the
fire god reigns, this is to allow all petty squabbling and bickering to be
put to one side so that we may fight the real enemy, if any races not a
member of this alliance would wish to join and they have no grievences with
present members then it should not present a problem to allow entry. For
those races that have no wish to join then all I can say is that you either
deeply mistrust our intentions and view us as a threat or that you side with
the fire god. In either case you will be viewed with deep suspision until
any actions you may perform prove otherwise.

I hope that we could all rise to meet the fire god and conquer this
challenge and allow an era of fairness and prosperity to reign over the
world. If any leaders have any suggestions or proposals towards these aims I
    will remain open to them.

  • PLAYER 5 - Ulfrik

    Greetings Fellow Wizards,

I, Ulfrik, chief wiseman of the plains, wish to introduce myself as the new leader of the plainsmen people. I plan to lead my people in opposition to Arragoth, and I deliver this warning - I shall react with hostility to all those who oppose me in this most might of persuits...

Though I am newly risen to the rank of wizard, I have no doubt that my abilities will be sufficient to deal with the foul and twisted godling, with the help of our allies, of course. On that note, I wish to propose an alliance to you all. I shall respect the borders of those who ally with me against Arragoth, and make no hostile move against them. Those who seek to aid the god will be destroyed.

I also wish to announce my alliance with the noble warriors of the minotaur people. Long May they Prosper.

    Yours In Glory,

Ulfrik, Chief Wiseman of the Plains.

  • PLAYER 9 - Castile

To all the children of Fate,

As the sands of time have swept the paths of history, we, the Sandpeople,
have sought truth and wisdom. The desert is a wise teacher who has bestowed
upon us the knowledge that change is not an obstacle, but an opportunity for
adaptation and growth. Know this. We do not praise the son of Arragoth nor
do we condemn him. We accept his arrival as a natural progression of
history. Only Fate will decide which races and which rulers will prevail.

As truth can only be unearthed when one's mind is pure, we shall refrain from
pursuing the Son of Fire in a crusade of greed and pride. Therefore, we seek
instead a position of neutrality, to be left alone in our desert haven.

Like the cactus who sits quietly in meditation waiting for the rain to bring
sustenance, our strength lies in our patience. We shall wait out the
destruction of your wars and battles, until everything is crushed and
crumbled, torched and torn, a world reduced to its basic elements -- sand and
ash. It is in this world that ignorance will falter, for only those who have
Wisdom will be able to adapt and survive.

Until then, we shall support those who also seek neutrality, offering to them
our friendship and knowledge. However, know that any alliance formed with us
has been predetermined to prosper or wither according to the natural law.
Until time itself is obliterated, the Sandpeople will be governed by the
master hand of Fate, the force of balance and truth in the universe.

    I have spoken.

[Scribed from the Gnomish Language, translated by Mortimer the scribe]

The Gnomish people seek only to push the limits of technology and magic.
We have little interest in the conflicts that surround the area, but
we are allies with our neighbors and will assist them whenever we can.

  • PLAYER 11 - Barazsul

Centuries ago, Arragoth arrived with his foul companions and drove us from
    our rightful place atop the
mountain. The time has come for us to regain our home. We WILL defeat the
fire god and return to our native lands.

Since Arragoth's coming, this accursed swamp has been our home. Oh, how we
long to leave this wet, diseased land. The unbearable heat, the snakes, the
filth, the unending rain...accursed swamp. For centuries, my people have
prepared for the day when we would be strong enough to regain our land,
having only wood as a substitute for the infinitely better stone or iron
which is almost nonexistent in this vile quagmire. Generations have passed
along the knowledge and hatred of the fire god and now we are strong enough
to return to the mountain. We will not be denied. This is our fate.

To those who would fight against the evil, we will gladly fight at your
side for the greater good. Be it known that once allied, we will stand
with and for you to the end, be it victory or death. We expect no less in
return. Those in league with the evil god and those who stand in the way
of our return to the mountain will DIE!

  • PLAYER 12 - Thanatos Blackbane

It seems that communication is something we lack. My attempts to contact
my allies have had little success, and it seems that this war will go on
forever, or until Arragoth's minions overpower or fractured forces and
rampage through the land. The Orcs, though poorly mismanaged in the past,
are beginning to turn around. Heroes and their armies surround Purple
Flame Volcano, and forces flow to the battlezone every mouth. Soon the
time will come for a counterstrike. My ally Swodd, who has been totally
silent as of late, seems to have similar intentions.

Magus Doom is moving towards Purple Flame also, and after skirmishes with
my scouting parties nothing has been heard from him, so I am assuming his
intentions are hostile, as he has attacked the Minotaurs in the past. I
make a call out to the alliance and my other allies to contact each other
with news, status reports, and the like. The Orcs are currently in dire
need of wood. Without it our development ceases and all I can do is churn
out more troops, while my empire stays at the same state. I am stepping up
production of Iron, Mithril, Stone, and Gems. I will trade for Wood with
any of the above resources. This is going out to my neighbors Swodd,
Ighthorn, and Castile. Send a messanger and we will arrange terms suitable
for both our parties. With that, I retire and prepare for war.

    The Orcs fight on,

    Thanatos Blackbane.
    Ruler of Nightscar.
