  • PLAYER 1 - Lord Faust

Greetings mighty wizards of Arragoths Islands!

It shall be known that I am Lord Faust, ruler of the under dwarves in Blackrock. My people harvest all the treasures of our dark mountain with an impressive craftsmanship, constantly searching for iron and the beloved sacred metal mithril.

My people have seen all the signs of the awakening of Arragoth, the son of the fire Gods. Arragoth will try to reclaim all his lost islands, and this we wizards must prevent. Arragoths lava legions must be sent back into their burning volcanoes, and we all know that the easiest way of making this happen is by uniting.

I shall great other wizards who wishes to unite with me, but keep your hands away from my peoples mithril or I won't be able to control their greedy wrath.

  • PLAYER 2 - Don Corleone

    reetings Wizards Of Arragoth,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Don Corleone, General of the Halflings of Cropers Wood.

Mayor Mariso Redbottom has appointed me to be the leader of our small army, in light of recent news that the Legend of Arragoth is rumoured to be true.

We are a peaceful race by our nature, and have no problems co-existing with the neighbouring nations of this realm.

However, with the impending threat, we would like to extend our hospitality and friendship to all, and hope our nations can survive these dark times.

You may send your messengers and runners to my home, or alternatively, our outpost. Messages sent to either address will eventually get to me.

Until we meet in the field of honour,
may you and your people prosper in harmony,

    Don Corleone,

General of the Halflings of Cropers Wood

Alternatively, you might like to try out my little experiment involving CGI and fill out the following form! I'll be sure to in form Don and I'm certain that he will be more accomodating in all your requests...

    Varossa Amazons

Hiya all! Well it happened again -- don't ask me how, but somehow I was playing with my orb in my attic ya see, and I got teleported into this really huge forest thicket...I think I was unconscious for a bit, because I had no idea where I was when I woke, and I was all tied down to this spit and had an apple in my mouth....these gorgeous maiden warrior types were all poking at me little round belly with a hot twig, and boy did it hurt! Anyways, I think they meant to have me for a feast or  something -- I couldn't really quite tell actually, but I doubted they wanted me over for a game of twister... Well, don't ask me how I did it, but somehow I managed to get them to pull the apple out and let me speak for a bit, and well, next thing I know I find out they simply adore tarts and other such delicassies, and even more they needed someone to play their olympic type games with (never knew one could fly so far until then....maybe we can have our own GATASU someday too...who knows?). To make a long story short, somehow I became their honorary guest, and they allowed me free passage      through the beautiful wooded lands of Varossa until they can help me get back to my hafling homeland. It turns out they even think I'm pretty intelligent or something (well I was once a grandiose mayor, I was!), and so they have also asked me to aid them in matters of magic, economy, and even to dabble in some diplomacy I think -- I'll leave all the fighting up to them though. The orb doesn't seem to be doing anything again, so this time I threw it to the depths of the ocean from our wonderful coastal hillside -- amazing how much it reminds me of home... *sniff*

Just to catch everyone up on events around town:

TURN 1 - What an atrocious turn of events -- not a single darn thing went right, and right of the bat the amazonians aren't too happy with their new halfpint advisor; guess I'll have to step it up a bit. It goes to show that even careful planning can turn to disaster when you make crucial errors of judgement and implementation -- gonna have to simply do better from now on! A few allies were contacted through some careful diplomacy, and it is thought more will be reached soon enough to join in the fight against Arragoth. Not much to report of in way of expansion, economy, or magic -- right now it all just sucks. :P

TURN 2 - Well it has become blatantly obvious to me now that our neighbors re not quite as close by as initially expected. This of course can be seen as good and bad, in that we have more land to be able to take for ourselves, but also lack a nearby trade partner. The jungles around our beutiful city seem to provide us with plenty of wood, and just enough food to get by, but basically nothing else. Hopefully we shall soon find someone that we can trade with for the other resources we direly need, or at the very least discover some land that will produce it for us. Much work has gone into devising plans for Varossa; The maidens seem to have the security issues taken care of, and the economy can only go as fast as our stockpiles hold up, so I can now focus a bit more on magic research and diplomatic means. A warm extention of goodwill to any who would care to be allies with our nation -- there are a few who have already seen the importance of allying with our nation (they obviously aren't sure the maidens will do anything less than gut them with their spears if not), but there are many who will come to realize the strength of having us as an ally, rather than an enemy. The time until Arragoth's arrival is short, and in order to survive we must all have those we can count on for aid -- Varossa does not plan to be one to fall due to ignorance.

Well that's about it for now...Oh! I almost forgot! I wanted to show you that orb I was talkin about in my introduction.

Here it is...ain't she a wonder?

Anyways -- Guess it's time for me to run off now. I've got a lot of work to do what with plans for new recruitment into the militia, ancient spells to be learned, dumb wizards writing me to be their best-friend...it's a hard life being sort of-mayor again I tell ya what.

Just thought I'd leave ya with one last look at Varossa and her soon to be ready naval fleet. Wow...the beauty of it all still hits me square in the chest sometimes. Know what I mean? Sure ya do!!

  • PLAYER 7 - Fin

    thornwatch.jpg - 57130 Bytes
1      The elven nation had existed for millenia; Sometimes as
a world-spanning empire, others as a hidden Sylvan refuge.
Through it all, it had been ruled from the mysterious city
hidden deep with the forest of Starlight. Slender towers and
graceful arches blended seamlessly with towering oaks and
redwoods in a breathtaking blend of civilization and nature.
It was out over this awe-inspiring view that Fin stared; face
thoughtful as he looked out over the city.
Despite the beauty of the view before him, he was troubled.
He had felt it for days; and, turning his senses inward, he
felt it even now: A shifting, within the very world's core; a
gathering of power, an awakening. Fin had lived long,
even by the standards of his elven race, and had seen
rulers come and go; empires rise and fall. Through it all
he had held his people in check, preparing for what was
coming, the time that was finally at hand.
A cold pre-dawn wind blew thourgh, stirring his cloak
and breaking his reverie. He spins from the balcony, calling
for his advisors despite the early hour. He had felt it; the
moment had come: Arragoth was awakening.
    ---

As the early morning sun shown through the window,
Fin turned away from the flame-red sky. It was scant hours
later, and his messengers had arrived. He looked into their
eyes, silent for a moment as he surveyed their faces.
"There are 11 of you, one for each of the Thaumaturge
lords of this age. The message I am about to give you is
strictly verbal, and must be delivered to the intended reciever
    only.

    'Mage-lords of Arragoth,
I am sure that you, too have sensed the disturbance in
the Aethyr, and also certain that you, as well, have devined
its cause to be the fulfillment of the ancient prophecy of
Arragoth's re-awakening. Therefore, I write to you now with
a message of friendship and alliance. When Arragoth awakens,
if we are not prepared, he shall sweep all before him, and
send this world down into chaotic destruction. To resist and
defeat him, we must unite as one. Our differences are
petty before the destruction that will result of we treat this
new mystical threat lightly. Please, heed my words.
This messenger will await your reply,
~Fin, High Marshal of Starlight Forest'

And with that, the messengers were gone, out the doors,
rushing to their waiting steeds. Moodily, Fin returned to
the window, to watch them thunder out the gates of Starlight.
He sighed, and turned from the window, hoping for the best.
Still, word had been sent, and, already this morning, he had
recieved word from several of his neighbors on the subject
of alliance, and they had been receptive. Now, he had only
    to wait.

    send me a message
