The Democratic Peoplešs Republic of Cropers Wood was founded by the mysterious wizard, the Nameless. Aided by his trusted accomplice, Joseph E. Gobbles, he has transformed this backwater of country bumpkins into a progressive, vibrant democracy. The wise wizardšs firm hand has guided his fortunate charges to new levels of economic prosperity. The first Five-turn plan is now well under way. Peoplešs Commissar Gobbles has mixed tough love with canny naus to weld his little charges into a mighty engine, the likes of which will power Arragoth into a new era. Already the new gospel of progress and prosperity has been embraced by the Minotaurs of Daglia. They have welcomed their Halfling brothers with open arms. Comrades, a new dawn is upon us! Unite now before it is too late! An old danger rears its head again and we must stand together to meet it.

Bobsville rises out of the endless plains of Granola like a ship sailing the waving golden seas of the surrounding cornfields. The bustling capital of the Plainsmen serves as a market for the surrounding farms, and a focus of political power for the region. The political system of Granola is simple but efficient. Each shire is headed by a lord, who sends a representative to Bobsville to sit on the council of elders. Heading the council of Plainsmen elders is Bob the Friendly. The wizard is known for his just and enlightened rule at home, and earned his reputation as the friendly in his dealings with his neighbours. Already his reputation has led the gnomes of Gotill to come out of their caves and offer their canny minds and strange machines to his service. Bob's two ambitions are a content, well-fed populace and peace for his land. His sincere wish is to work together with the other rulers of Arragoth to achieve these goals. Unfortunately it seems Arragoth has other plans. Bob the Friendly's scribes have determined that within a year the imprisoned god will arise from his volcano, bringing his deadly lava legions with him. All lands must unite against this threat.

I, Corilon, of the Jungle City of Varossa, declare for now and always |
that the borders of my lands shall be open and available to all for the |
purposes of negotiation and trade. However, let it also be known that |
should anyone feel the necessity to try their armed might against our |
tribesmen they shall summarily be escorted from same said lands with |
or without their heads. I can be your staunchest ally or your most dire |
enemy. You see the choice my friends is really all up to you. Would |
you accept my hand in peace and show that you are secure enough in |
your manhood that you need not display undue testosterone? Or would |
you prefer your blood lay steaming in our vast jungles, or perhaps one |
day in your own lands as proof that you are all the Wizard you dreamed |
of being? Once again, I say, the choice is yours. There have been a |
brave few who have accepted this challenge and they shall reap the |
benefits thereof from the very beginning. Others may come later when |
they have seen the light and they too shall be accepted with open arms. |
Unfortunately there is always one who cannot believe without being |
shown the way. Will that one be you, my friend? |
