As the seasons change and the prophecies of the ancient texts come to = pass, I fear that our land will be swamped in a tide of an ancient evil = and there are none but the Dark Elves and the Hill Dwarves who will = stand against it. Our stout (but rather diminutive) allies have related to us tales of a = volcano which was once used by the Ancient One to control the world. No = sooner had this news reached our halls than our scouts reported the = discovery of an enormous cavern which according to our lore was another = of his portals to our land. The discovery of these evil sites is a sign that his time of re-birth is = close at hand and I again urge you to join the forces of the Dark Elf = and Hill Dwarf nations. Only together can we stand against his power! Zandor

Back in the eons of time, those that stand long in dwarven memory, a group of hill dwarves lived on the sides of a dormant volcano. In that time, when all the world was in a golden age, the dwarves built many marvels. They tapped the abundant resources that surrounded them, from the iron tof the mountain, to the wood and game of the lowlands. As many cultures soon learned, this peaceful existance could not last forever.
When the great mountains of the world erupted in fire, when brimstone and ash rained from the sky, when the Dark One ruled from his black iron throne the dwarves quaked, but did not waver. They were one of the first peoples severely punished for their insolence, and the wrath of the Dark One was great. He caused the dormant volcano, long home of the dwarves, to ERUPT, sending the dwarves in hasty flight to the marshy lowlands.
After the defeat of the Dark One the dwarves remained scattered. Slowly they began to regroup in a refugee camp that they called Camp Jollymount. The time of fire has long been over, and the dwarves have built Camp Jollymount into a small city. Though they are still cut off from the world, their envoys have begun to leave the swamps, and investigate the world around them. The dwarven armies begin to reequip and march forth, seeking to retake their homes of old.
The dwarves of Camp Jollymount encourage messengers from other groups. They need information about the world outside. Please, either respond to their initial probe for information, or open the enclosed pages for a map to the swamps, and send your own messenger.
