Welcome all yee who seek knowledge...
It has been a long time since I, Mitsushi the Seventh, have walked the lands of Merrigon. The world seems different, and yet some things are the same. I find myself a suitable site for our new city, at hamlet called Laline Grove, in the lush forests of this isle. But it seems that old ties die hard as our townsfolk refuse to acknowledge its new name and have unofficially let their longing for home known by dubbing it Drakilak. So please enjoy a long ale drawn from our cellars as I recite tales of the past.

"It was the age of darkness, when I first faced the harsh icy wind alone. With many faces I have been dealing with the forces of evil and destruction ruling all of the lands and worlds that are known. All laws of nature seemed to have been broken and powers of magic somehow diminished.

During these times, dark forces have opposed me and my allies and yet the true evil is never materialising but forever I'm being forwarned of the approaching armies of the Dark Ones minions. It was believed that these were manifestations from the bodies of the great evil dark leader, yet he remains unknown in body or name to those who inhabited past lands. Many peoples were lost in those days, with total races being lost to the marauding forces of evil and becoming known only in folklore. Many of our close allies were lost in those days too, slain with their whole kinfolk in merciless battles, which were inevitably finished only with no life remaining. It seemed that the total destruction of all life was the goal of these shadowy beings. I survived solely by using my unique knowledge. It was only by keeping mobile I we able to endure these years. It seem that all effort was spent my destruction. But after five generations and almost two hundred years it seems my final fate is drawing ever nearer.

For it is told in visions and dreams, on a long forgotten barren and devastated island, that strange events were to pass and to surprise most who had presumed me body to the forces of evil. And so begins the Second Age of the Wizards.

In time, as knowledge is gained, apprentices become skilled, and vital magical gem sources are collected, our people shall soon gain the power to hold the forces of evil at bay. Then in time, as our ally races make equal gains in power, evil will be pushed back further and the world returned to normal. Many famous tales of heroic and brave deeds will be told of these glory years. This will not just be a short respite.

We shall ensure that as time revolves, the peaceful races shall prosper and continue for many more generations.

    Dear Seeker of Knowledge...
we honor our goal, but our task is perhaps beyond to take upon himself totally at this time, having lost so many trusted advisors. And so we have established several bodies or "pillars" to aid our duties. These are the "Red Pillars of War, Temple of Gold Pillars and Green Pillars of Growth." And herewith follow of basics of these Pillars.

    l
    Red Pillars of War
    m

    "Life is Use"

The Council of the Red Pillar of War is restricted to those individuals who show that they can equal our solemn oath of sacrifice for our leader. The table shall be governed by he who has the power and experience to dominate all other, although his table shall be sought for consul in all matters of war. Class or race shall not be a hindrance to joining. Invitation shall be by way of challenge alone. All skills shall be treated as equal in the Pillar as a myriad of tasks can be foreseen. Such accumulance of intelligence, knowledge and body skills shall aid our ultimate goal.

    Life is Faith

To gain access to the higher plane your mind must be of pure thought and your heart be strong in the old ways. Leave not from the path of mutual existence of the two pure forces which follow the divine laws. But don't follow one path without a foot in the other or else you will break the chain of power. Disobedience will surely damn your sole forever and eternal purgatory shall prevail.
"Seek the balance of choice, process, presence, compassion, faith, expectation, integrity, action and unity."

    Green Pillars of Growth

    Life is Strength

All that seek the way for seeking the secrets of times past shall follow the pure route to wisdom through the skills of mechanism and structure. It is the strength to be gained to those that are weak on the outside which shall give most gains to those that find the secrets. "Yee shall seek to but to find". The ways of the world shall be governed by those who occupy it and use it to the best ability of their race. The ways of the air and sea are not unknown to our elders but we must delve into what is not known that the greatest gains shall be made.
"Seek the balance of form, structure, force, material, mechanics, spectrum and energy."

We wish all well and Issue an open request that all fellow wizards of like mind (to eliminate the evil) that might occupy this strange land shall contact me or Pillars.
We await news of others who may be like minded and join us towards this goal.
    Fare well

Wrong blurb, I know, but I had not time for a rewrite. My apologies.

December twentieth, Audience Hall in Lachlan Spur

The man steps quietly forward and bows, his hat drawing the gaze of every warrior in the hall. Belying his sober cassock, worthy of the most lowly monk, it forms a blood-red Mohawk over his face. Smiling benignly, quite at ease in this warlike company, he speaks.

'Chief, I salute you and your people. It has come to my attention that your realm is under threat of the evil creatures living on the islands and that you would appreciate help from any and all capable individuals. I have come to respond to that wish. I am the wizard Takara, of Gangs Yul in the world of Yaddrin, and would assist you in these times of peril.'

'You have heard well, sorceror. This realm will be the location of many battles shortly. However, we have warriors without peer and have never yet needed the help of spellslingers to defend ourselves or even go out and conquer. Walk through the hills and mountains here, see the might of the Clans. Our town is being built up into a fortress, already impenetrable, even though it is not even half finished. See the fletchers and armourers toil in their workshops to create the weapons to be used in the upcoming struggle. Consider the warriors you will meet and think deeply on the arrogance you have displayed. The Highland Clans of Lachlan Spur do not lower themselves by employing such as you in our armies.'

One of the warriors stands and charges the man, claymore swinging. The stranger just watches, holds up his hand and whispers. The warrior stops suddenly, as though he has run into a wall. Muscles bulging, veins standing out on his forehead, he struggles, but is unable to move.

For the first time looking the Chief in the eye, the stranger speaks again. 'My Lord, if that is your decision, I will of course abide by it. Your fighters will prevail or not, with only their own strength and will, and so will you.' Once again he mumbles, and his hand moves. 'Could you please have someone show me my quarters?' he asks...

December the twenty-second, Lachlan Spur marketplace

... and so be it declared that the Wizard Takara shall speak for us, as he is of one body and mind with us.

    Signed, McLeod, Chief of Chiefs.

With this the town-crier steps down, looks aroud at the astonished faces, and scuttles towards the safety of the tavern.
