Glimalisa, the Capital Area of the High Elves is deeply hidden in the forest. Only the High Elves know where to find it, how to reach it. The path to Glimalisa is full of traps. Hey stranger, you better avoid this territory, or you'll die. No outsider has ever reached Glimalisa. High Elves know that the World is populated by different creatures: Plainsmen, Orcs, Dwarves, Halflings, Minotaurs, Sandpeople, Amazons, Lizardmen and even more strange and evil creatures like Golems, Phantoms, Fire Beasts, Undead Creatures, Elementals, Charmed Monsters and they are well prepared against their invasion. They find this World beautiful, where it is worth living, and they'll fight against those, who want to destroy it. The High Elves consider themselves being one of the anciant races, and those eveil creatures did not exist then. Something must happened with this World, soemthing bad. But things can be still retrieved. At least the High Elves mean it.

The Capital is a fast growing City. Various buildings are built season by season, to rise the morale, birth rate, happiness, production and make it a place, where Heroes are born. Yet a Hero has offered to serve Wizard Sycul. Some Brigands joined him leaving up with theft and crime, and decided to choose the right path, the Path of the Truth. They knew, they are needed. They want to wash away the shame that's been clung on them.

Hero Bocskai took a deep breath. "Hope these Brigands will serve me and my Master soundly. I don't know wether I could trust them, but I have no choice. I'll have to. If they'll hold on heroically in the first battle, I'll honour them."

The High Elves continued to spread over the World, as their land is still too small for them. Lines of soldiers kept moving under favour of the night.

Lines of High Elves Militia marched along the ridge. The baggage train had been broken into two segments, the first of which was now departing with the wounded and the dead who could be cremated with honors back in Glimalisa. Clouds of dust rose from the trail as wheels rolled and boots tramped toward home, the fine powder mixing with the acrid smoke from campfires as tehy were extinguished. The rising sun streamed through the haze, orange and pale gold, lances of color in an otherwise gray morning. In the distance birds sang, ignoring the aftermath of battle.

Wizard Sycul, ruler of all the High Elves, emperor of Glimalisa sat on his horse, taking a moment to enjoy the majesty of the sunrise and the serenade of the birds as he watched his men heading home. The fighting had been blessedly short but bloody, and while casualties were lighter than anticipated, he still hated to lose even one solider under his command. He let the beauty of the vista before him soothe his frustration and regret for a few moments.

He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I don't know what to expect, so I'm preparing for the worst."

The High Elves prepared to spread over the World, as their land has been too small for them. They knew there're enemies everywhere and they'll have to face bloody battles along their move.

High Elves are the ancient elves tribe that still have great connection with the elemental plane and that they are one of the earliest creation of the gods. In Glimalisa, high elves are rarely known to the public. Even the greatest and most knowledgeable sage might not know their existence until they are willing to open up their forest. The High Elves have good mounted units, good archers and good foot regiments. The Sword Masters have two handed weapons which do not always strike last. Rangers have composite bows, which have carried them to victory on battlefields throughout the world.

Here you can see a pedestrian and a mounted High Elf Warrior.

Usually young High Elves are curious about the human world, so they might wander out of the forest. Sometime High Elves venture outside of the Forest to carry out mission for the tribe. However, they rarely go out of the forest, even though they might, they will more likely observe the world from the edge of the forest. Rumor has spread all over, that grisly monsters, creatures of the Hell wander their land. Although they prefer peace, they started the armament and strengthened their army.

The High Elves are great magicians, smiths, hunters and artists. And many of their weapons and jewellery is in the ownership of the Order of the Moon, that regard these things as holy. The greatest magician among them is Wizard Sycul, their leader and Ruler of Glimalisa, great wizard of the White Path, expert in Druidic spells. Druidic Magic is the harnessing of the forces of Nature. High Elven religion centres around their secluded druidic shrines. These holy places, tucked in the wildest and most remote nooks and crannies of the mountains, house elven druids of the highest levels. The shrines are reportedly places of great power and spells cast from these areas are reported to be of double strength and duration. It is also rumoured that the shrines gain this special power by being located in areas of "elemental weakness"-a misgiven name, for these houses of worship are centred on fissures between the Prime Material plane and one or more of the various elemental and paraelemental planes, particularly those of Earth, Air, Fire and Water.

The lieutenants continued to come up the stairs until the hall was full. Several whispered and a couple shrugged. Wizard Sycul recognized they were waiting for Vándor, the greatest Hero ever been among High Elves to act. The expected hazing of the newly-appointed knights wasn't proceeding as planned.

"Great wizard, Gentlemen! The enemy - golems, spectres and giants - reached our borders. I expect another attack, soon. Those three who attacked us numbered at least one, probably very powerful monsters. We have to decide which strategy to follow: attack them by suprise under favour of the night, or fall back into the castle and defend ourselves, profiting of the castle's defence bonus."

Most of the attendance nodded.

"We have dozen swords, and this castle is defensible. Relief should arrive at mid-morning tomorrow, and I've asked for healers to be sent with the soldiers, so the wounded will most likely survive."

"Assuming we're alive when relief gets here." The Hero paused as if considering and said, "In my travels I have seen wounds that would not heal. Those monsters use daggers with potions on them, and certain creatures can rend flesh that will not heal afterwards. My knowledge of such things is scant, but I have a powder that may slow the damages until we get the wounded to the castle."

The Wizard had stationed men at every possible entrance to the building. He had removed two men who had tended the horses, assuming that any in the castle would be among the most vulnerable. All the doors were barred. There were men at both the downstairs windows. The High Elves have been prepared for the worst.

"..."

"Sire, we've reached the end of the World on the west coast. Found some strange, but peaceful races living there. One of them is the Amazon race. They live in the jungle and are masters of jungle warfare. They send their women to the battle together with men. They're ready to serve you. We'll train them and they'll become great warriors. The other race is the Lizardmen. Quite strange creatures, kind of crocodiles walking on human feet, they are strong and peaceful race, too. So, the land is peaceful over there, no enemies and monsters wander those lands. And there're plenty of woods, ideal land for High Elves. Population is growing fast, we need new territories to settle in. One settler with one tousand of High Elves is on his way, guarded by one hundred well equipeed, trained and armed High Elf soldiers. I suggest sending another one, as the land is rich in goods and big enough."

The advisor nodded.

"Heroes have offered to serve you, Mylord. I hired them. A duel will decide, which is the bravest, strongest and smartest. The winner will lead your army to the east cost to face the enemy."

"Great Lord, our scouts reported they found another civilization far on the other side of the World, east from our lands. Their population is led by a wizard. We don't know how strong this wizard and his empire is, yet. More scouts and a spy have been sent to collect the needed information. I'm afraid we'll soon be in war with this just discovered civilization. I suggest recruiting more soldiers and training a powerful army, to be able to defend our lands."

"Khm, khm, there is something else you should know... Our troups marshing along west discovered some strange ruins. One of them is guarded by two ever vigil zombies. Seems to be an ancient burial ground of a long dead race. At least we couldn't decipher the inscriptions on the cripts nearby the graveyard. The other one seems to be a tower with tall pillars of vulcanic rocks. We have not touched these places yet, as evil creatures are wandering them. I suggest sending a Hero there with a powerful troop to get rid of these monsters keeping in danger our lands."

Vándor worked his scimitars in smooth, sure circular motions, bringing them through delicate and deceiving arcs. When the opportunity presented itself, he stepped ahead and slashed down at a seemingly exposed shoulder with one blade. But the orc, bald head shining in the sunlight, was faster. The orc dropped a foot back and raised a long sword in a solid parry, then came forward in a straight rush, stabbing with a dirk, then stepping ahead again to thrust with the sword.

...

The Hero danced in perfect harmony with the orc's fluid movements, twirling his twin scimitars defensively, each rolling down and over to ring against the thrusting sword. The orc stabbed again, mid-torso, then a third time, aiming low.

Over and down went the scimitars, the classic, double-block-low. Then up those twin weapons came as the agile, hairless orc tried to kick through the block.

The orc's kick was no more than a feint, and as the scimitars came up, the orc fell into a crouch and let fly the dagger. It sailed in before he could get the scimitars down low enough to block, before he could set his feet and dodge aside.

A perfect throw for disembowelment, the devilish dagger cought him in the belly.

"New civilization has been discovered, Mylord. It's far from our lands and seems to be quite primitive, not like this one, we are holding war against. I suggest extending our empire in both directions. We could easyly conquer this newly discovered barbarian world, but we'll have more truble with the other one. Recruiting is needed. More and more soldiers are needed on the front. Scouts reported thousands of enemy lines moving in our direction. The enemy has powerful monsters, like Balrogs among their army. We'll have to prepare for a hard battle."

Silence sat on the council.

"Let me handle the strategy on the front side, Mylord. I have an experienced Spy in my service. I'll send him in a mission to instigate revolt among the enemy lines.

The wizard nodded and dismissed the council.
