Wow Games has a policy where by a player with a commercial account can receive global credits for each new commercial player that they introduce to WoW.
This is done though a referral system. At the point where a new player signs up, there is a section for the login name of the person who referred them. This data will stay in the WoW database and should that player start a commercial account in the future, a record of the initial referrer will remain.
So what is in it for the person that referred them? Well $A8 in global credits for the person that directly referred the player to WoW. Note that if your global credits balance gets above $20 it will automatically be converted to real money. This way if you are making tons of money by just referring new players to WoW, you can cash some of that money in. The specific details of the global credits to real money policy are found in the Payments Page,
Now as an added bonus, this referral system works in a kind of hierarchy (sort of MLM but no, we aren't pulling any sort of AMWAY scheme). Players that turn commercial that were directly referred you, gain you $A8 global credits as stated above. You will also gain global credits (25%) from players that this newly signed player refers. Indirect referrals by you effectively give you 25% of the $8. This continues for each of 4 levels of indirect referral.
To illustrates a bit better the diagram below may help.
Assume you are player A. Player B is referred to WoW by player A. Player C is referred to WoW by player B, and so on.
A -> B -> C -> D -> E -> F .... and so on. Player A receives $A 8.00 global credits for the referral of B. Player A receives $A 2.00 global credits for the indirect referral of C. Player A receives $A 0.50 global credits for the indirect referral of D. Player A receives $A 0.12 global credits for the indirect referral of E. Player A receives $A 0.03 global credits for the indirect referral of F. Player B receives $A 8.00 global credits for the indirect referral of C. Player B receives $A 2.00 global credits for the indirect referral of D. Player B receives $A 0.50 global credits for the indirect referral of E. Player B receives $A 0.12 global credits for the indirect referral of F. Player B receives $A 0.03 global credits for the indirect referral of G. and so on. These referrals can also branch out so that if you recruit B who then recruits 3 new players, you receive bonuses from all these 3 and all the players they then refer; A -> B -> C -> F -> G -> D -> E -> H -> I -> J So if you refer 5 players who refer 5 and so on you could end up with 5+25(ie.5*5)+125+625+3125 =3905 referrals. It sounds good in theory anyway :-)Note that the underlying factor here is that to get the global credits you must already have a commercial account, however you can still make referals as someone who has signed up for free. WoW Games hopes that this new system will encourage you the players to help do a lot of the advertising/promoting work to spread the word of WoW.
To help you out we have include the below code that you can put on your web sites if you like. What it will do (if you include it), is automatically make you the referring person if the new person sign ups to WoW initially from your web page.

Just a few notes;
We hope you are enjoying WoW and will spread the word to others. The project
started as a hobby but after 4 years the time and capital required to take the
game to the next level is immense. We hope you will be able to help out bringing
new players to the game and via the referral system, we hope we can give you something back for your efforts.
